Time of day in BBC’s Sherlock
I thought it would be interesting to see if time of day in the ten episodes of BBC’s Sherlock could be visualised in a meaningful way. One thing that becomes clear, is that while the episodes have become ”darker” over time, there are actually fewer scenes that take place at night in the later episodes.
All time periods are approximates, since I’ve used the five minute time intervals from my visualisations of the episodes and simply divided the five minutes with the number of scenes within that timeframe. This means that short scenes will be overrepresented, especially if they take place in a five minute interval where the other scenes are long. The effect should be similar for all episodes.
